This article should probably be moved to a glossary once one is created.

The [[Quest Item]] check box is on most base objects. Originally it was a way of marking an object as special in some way. When a user performs operations on these objects in the editor, for example, a warning message pops up. However its functionality has grown so that now objects marked as quest items cannot be dropped from your inventory, they have no weight, they are not cleaned up when a cell is reset (and are not cleared from reset inventories), and actors marked as quest items update more frequently.
